Sweet Elle

Soft Alcohol Ink Backgrounds

Good morning! Heather here to share a fun technique for using Alcohol Inks to create a soft background, similar in style to a watercolor background! I added some florals using the amazing (and HUGE) Blooming Peonies stamp set and a birthday sentiment using Sweet Elle.

Here is this week’s video showing you how I created these cards:

The colors of alcohol inks I used were Lemonade, Turquoise, and Sunset Orange.

I also mention this in the video – but I tried 3 different types of ink to stamp my image and sentiments – and highly recommend using the Staz-on ink. It definitely worked the best and resisted smudging much better!

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!

Hello, Sweet Baby Elle!

Good Morning Friends!
It’s Mindy here and today I have a Baby Set to share with you.
I used the adorable Stamp Set Sweet Elle {retired}.
I used this brown paper bag and created my own little gift bag by covering the front and back in patterned paper. I then cut out my Sweet Elle {retired} in a circle. and colored her in with my Copics. I used N0, N1, N3 and N5. The balloon is Y26, Y21 and Y0000. The heart is BG15, BG11, BG10, BG0000.
The little pouch is so simple. You can pretty much take any size rectangle and tape the ends in opposite directions. I use double sided tape and crimp the edges. of each closed piece.
You could use these as a gift wrapping, or even put them as place settings at a baby shower.
Super cute little idea and Sweet Elle {retired} would be the most cutest theme, too!!

Have a great week everyone!
Hugs, Mindy

A Spring Birthday Card with Guest Designer Mindy Baxter

Hi there everyone. It’s Mindy here and I’m so excited to Guest Designing for Unity this month.
I hope you will enjoy what I have to share with you.
Here’s a card I made using Unity’s January Kit of the Month. This kit is so versatile and the sizes of the stamps are so much bigger than what you would think from the photo online. The Sentiment is from the Sweet Elle {retired} Stamp of the Week Set.
I used the ‘no line’ stamping technique, one of my favorites. I stamped the image in Memento Desert Sand ink and colored with my Copics using Y0000, Y21, Y26, Y28, G82 and G85.
I added some Flowersoft along the entire bottom of the card. I love the texture the Flowersoft gives.

I took some Journey Glaze and put some in the centers of all of the flowers. You can see a little shine to them in the photo. Of course I use lots of 3d foam dots when creating. It adds so much to your cards. Even if it’s a simple one.

I hope you have a wonderful day.
Hugs, Mindy
