Autumnal Ink Blended Tag

Hi Everyone! Welcome to Make It Monday blog with me, Sarah. Fall is right around the corner. I can picture it now with the crisp air, festivals, and baked goods. Today I’ll be sharing how to create an autumnal ink blended tag using the Acorn Almanac set from the August ’26 Kit of the Month. You don’t have to use the entire stamp to have a beautiful impact. That’s why I love background stamps for the ability to choose which areas you want to highlight.

Supplies:

  1. Unity Stamp Co. August ’26 Kit of the Month First Days to Festive Nights
  2. Unity Stamp Co. Scallops & Banners {nesting dies}
  3. Unity Stamp Co. Manila Tags 1 7/8 x 3 3/4″
  4. Distress Oxides
    • Mustard Seed, Spice Marmalade, Ripe Persimmon, Crackling Campfire, Aged Mahogany
  5. White pigment ink
  6. Black cardstock
  7. Gold cardstock
  8. Gold acrylic paint
  9. Black enamel dots
  10. Twine
  11. Black sheer ribbon

Tutorial:

Step 1: Stamp the Acorn Almanac image onto a manila tag.

Step 2: Ink blend the tag with Distress Oxides in autumnal colors. Sprinkle water droplets onto the tag to pick up some color.

Step 3: Water down gold acrylic paint and splatter onto the tag.

Step 4: Stamp a sentiment from Mice & Cozy with white pigment ink onto black cardstock. Trim with the smallest Scallops & Banners die.

Step 5: Trim a piece of gold cardstock with the same banner die. Adhere it behind the trimmed sentiment slightly offset on the bottom. Then use foam dots to adhere the banners onto the bottom of the tag.

Step 6: Add twine through the tag hole and tie a bow around the twine with sheer black ribbon.

Step 7: Embellish with black enamel dots.

I love how autumn colors pop! The tag can be used for a gift basket full of baked goods or even as an embellishment for a card. I hope you give this tag a try! Hi Sending Love English Bulldog Collage Style Card

Hello.  I’m Gaylynn and I am excited to share another creative project here on the Unity blog. Today, I am sharing a sending love English bulldog collage style greeting card with vintage layers. This one features an adorable pet dog with distressed layers and accents. This was made using stamps and dies by Unity Stamp Company for their blog post today.

See how I put this monochromatic layered card together. The project supplies are below.

Sentiment: Hi. Sending love.

Helpful Tips:

    1. Prepare an A2-sized side fold card base from white cardstock, 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.

    2. Onto a piece of white cardstock, stamp the dog and the sentiment.

    3. Color the dog lightly with your choice of markers. I used tan shades of Copic markers.

    4. Die-cut or cut out the dog in a heart shape.

    5. Die-cut or trim a kraft color background layer, a heart accent and the sentiment.

    6. Trim an ephemera or accent tag for an accent.

    7. Use ephemera or other accents for the “hi” sentiment.

    8. Add distress oxide ink blending around the stamping and the tag.

    9. Layer and adhere the background, the dog, the accents and the sentiment over the card base, to finish.

Bible journaling fun fold tag art ~ Luke 23 31

Hello.  Gaylynn here. This project is Bible journaling fun fold tag art with a vintage finish.  This one incorporates stamping both onto cardstock and onto the thin bible pages. Adding art to bible pages adds beauty and interest.

Helpful Tips:

First, to create a Bible journaling fun fold tag, find the page most suited for your art or stamping.  Then, onto white cardstock, stamp the church and the sentiment with room to fit onto a trimmed tag.  Next die-cut or trim the stamping as a flag-shaped narrow tag.  Then, color in the stamping.  Also, hole punch the top of the tag and add cording.  Then, score a fold line on the edge of the tag from top to bottom.  Next, add score tape or extra tacky double-sided tape to the tag fold section only.  For a page background, stamp with chalk ink, write or add ink blending along the page border.  Finally, place the tag onto the page border and flip the tag back and forth to view the bible words.
Optional, use the fun fold tag as a bookmark without adding adhesive.

Support or Sympathy ~ Vintage Rose Tag Card

Hi friends.  Gaylynn here. Today, I am sharing a vintage style support or sympathy rose tag card.

The greeting card is perfect to show you care for many reasons including condolences, support, get well, thinking of you and more.

Helpful Tips:

To make this rose tag card, begin by preparing an A2 card base in white or your choice of colors.  Then, trim or die-cut a stamp layer and a frame layer.  I chose to stamp on white and frame in kraft color cardstock.  Next, stamp the book and on a separate piece stamp the sentiment.  For the image color, I used Copic markers and added distress ink blending on the edges.  Also, trim or die-cut the sentiment.  To embellish, add cording and adhesive gems.  Finally, layer it all onto the card base, to finish.

Layered Forest

Happy Friday crafty friends!  This is Julissa of Paper Gems by Jules and I’m sharing the new Winters Trust, Forest & Fortitude Stamp set on a card using some repeat stamping to create a winter forest scene. Let’s get inky!

I start by stamping the pine trees using a lighter green. Space the light green trees out as the darker green trees need to be in the front.  Next, using a darker green, stamp more of the same tree on the front and slightly lower than the lighter green trees.

You can use a darker green or even a black for the bottom trees. By using these different colors and the layers, this will give the illusion of trees that are further back.  Once you’re done stamping trees, die cut this scene using the Make-A-Tag die.  I used Stormy Sky Distress Ink to blend in the sky and splattered white white paint to add a gentle snowy sky.

I stamped the delicate sentiment on white card stock and used the Scallop & Stitched Sentiment dies to cut it out. Punched a hole on end to tether it to the tag.  I then cut a forest green card stock to 5.25″ x 4″ and used the retired Vintage Script embossing folder to add a little texture. Keeping this rustic feel, I added a two-toned jute and tethered the sentiment to the tag. Lastly, I adhered it to a kraft card base.

Copic Coloring on White vs. Ivory Card Stock

Happy Friday! It’s Julissa of Paper Gems by Jules back on the blog with this cool new holiday stamp called “Something About Christmas” that will hopefully cool things off during these hot summer days!  This is a big snowman with lots of great detail (which stamps so well in red rubber!) worked perfectly for these tags using the Make A Tag die set.  I used both white and ivory card stock and wanted to share how to create vintage and colored looks using Copics, all while showing the differences in the color on both types of paper. So let’s get inky!

Let’s start with these vintage tags. Using Warm Gray Copics on the ivory card stock, it creates a beautiful vintage sepia look. Add a little Old Paper Distress ink to the edges to complete the look and layer it onto black cardstock. For the white tag, I used. Cool Gray Copics and Hickory Smoke Distress ink on the edges. This coloring technique is great for all sorts of classic and vintage looks.

For the next set of tags, I used traditional colors on white and ivory card stock to demonstrate the difference in how the colors show up.  The ivory gives off a more vintage look because of the color so this might be a great way to create a vintage look with minimal effort.

I did use any Distress ink on these as the colors were bright enough on both. I did back them each with Evergreen card stock to compliment the color used the least and added red ribbon.

Wild and Wonderful – Unity June Challenge

Welcome to a brand new challenge for the month of June – Wild and Wonderful! This month’s challenge theme on the Unity Blog is all about the wild and wonderful things in nature. Feel free to interpret it your own way. Think butterflies, birds, animals, wildflowers, or whatever your wild heart desires. The focal point for my project is the gorgeous butterfly from the Remember to Breathe stamp set. The background stamp I used is from Vibes and the sentiment is from Joy In Your Dreams. You can find these beautiful sets on sale under the ‘on the blog’ section at Unity Stamp Company.

Wild and Wonderful Tag

Today’s project is all about layering. Inks, stamps, stickers, washi, and all the fun stuff. I started by die-cutting two tags out of watercolor paper using a Tim Holtz Tag die. Then I used Salvaged Patina, Carved pumpkin, and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxides to create an ink-smooshed background. Next, I stamped the background over it.
I brought out the butterfly stamp and stamped it on the tag to mark the position where I wanted my butterfly. Then, I stamped the butterfly twice on watercolor paper and fussy cut them out. I went around the edges with black ink and watercolored the butterflies using Distress Oxides (Carved Pumpkin and Crackling Campfire). I added sparkle using Wink of Stella pen to one of the butterflies and also colored the back of the butterfly. Next, I adhered one butterfly flat over the stamped image on the tag and added the second one over it with little pieces of foam tape on one half. I gently folded up the right side of the wing so it remains popped up. I also added glossy medium to the center of the butterfly
Next, I added some stickers and washi around the focal image. I stamped the sentiment and ripped around it and stapled it down. I messed around with the second tag using washi and leftover inks on my glass mat and adhered it to the back of my completed tag to make it more sturdy. Finally, I used Distress Spray stain (Peacock Feathers) to color some seam binding ribbon to make my own crinkled ribbon and added it to the tag.
