Things Take Time

September 29, 2022 - by Noelle Reese

Welcome to the last week of the Your Favorite Technique Card Challenge!

Hello!  It’s Noelle posting today and this is my last post for the card challenge!  🙁  I am sorta sad about it!  LOL  This was a fun time!  I have completely enjoyed hosting these last 3 months and I have been so inspired by all of your cards!

This was an incredible month!  I got to go to Unity, meet My People and make stamps!  It was the trip of a life time!  I hope to finish admiring all of your cards tonight!  I apologize for being so far behind!  I’ll catch up!

For the final shaker card technique, I decided on a shaped shaker card!  This was fiddly!  I am sure some of you are not into that, like my sister LOL  But, hear me out LOL!  I love putting die scenes together almost as much as I love embossing!  This combines the best of both worlds!

I grabbed my Queen & Co Gnomies dies and got busy cutting!  Unity has so many fantastic images, you could just stamp a mushroom and skip the fiddly part!

I used the Scallops and Rectangles dies to cut the Rustic Wood paper for the background.  I used some Ballerina sequins as filler along with some other wood fillers.  Do y’all have any of these flat sequins without a hole?  I saw them while I was at Unity and got 7 colors!  Now I need all the rest!  They are so beautiful!  There are all sorts to pick from, you can see them all HERE.I cut the grass with some fun scissors I got in a sewing basket from a thrift store!  I used Things Take Time to stamp the sentiment and the envelope and then I embossed them.

My picture doesn’t show the stamp set well enough, that glare is awful!

Things Take Time

Look how adorable this stamp set is!  Unity has a fantastic selection of gnome stamps.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  See you over on Facebook!  There will be gift cards given as prizes soon!  Stay tuned for October’s card challenge!  I am sure it will be amazing!  Crystal will be your host and I can’t wait to see what challenges she does!

Rainbow Alcohol Ink Gnome Card

Good morning! Heather here with another video featuring alcohol inks! I hope you aren’t getting tired of these yet – there are just so many fun techniques you can do with them, and I can’t seem to get enough of playing with them! This weeks card features a fun rainbow background and the adorable gnome from Things Take Time.

Here is this week’s video showing you how I created the fun rainbow background on this card:

I absolutely LOVE how bright and vibrant this background comes out – it’s so fun to be able to mix this many colors together and come up with something that still has each color a bit distinct and recognizable.

The air blower I use in the video is a tool for camera lens cleaning – I purchased it off of Amazon. If you search for “lens cleaning air blower” you will find several options ranging from $5 and up. The one I purchased was bout $8 and it works beautifully, so don’t feel like you have to go crazy and buy a super expensive one!

As I also mentioned in the video – I created a background on the video, then used a previously created one to do my stamping, which allowed me to use a thoroughly dry background for my stamping. They both looked fairly similar, but if you notice some differences – you are right! And my ink of choice to stamp on these is Staz-on Ink.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful day!
