Cool Goose Summer Stamp Set Cardmaking Tutorial | Unity Stamps

There is something especially inviting about a clean and simple card that lets a fun image take center stage. Rick is back with another Membership Thursday blog post, sharing a cheerful summer-inspired project featuring the Cool Goose Summer Stamp Set, part of the July 2026 Whit-Kit Card Kit. In today’s project, you’ll see how simple stamping, alcohol marker coloring, and thoughtful design choices come together to create a handmade card that feels lighthearted, balanced, and relaxing.

 

Project Overview

This card embraces a clean and simple design by giving the adorable goose image plenty of room to shine. A generous white background keeps the layout open and uncluttered, while a narrow blue mat frames the focal panel and adds just enough contrast to draw the eye inward.

The sentiment is positioned above the image, creating a natural visual flow that leads the viewer from the greeting down to the illustrated scene. A few coordinating embellishments complete the design without overwhelming it, proving that small details can have a big impact when used intentionally.

Summer Beach Card Making with Whit-Kit

Hello friends.  Welcome to the Unity blog.  I’m Gaylynn.  Enjoy Summer beach card making with a seaside goose. To build the scene, I added beach stenciling, sweet duck stamping, masking, fussy cutting and alcohol ink coloring. It is close to a one layer card with the exception of the sentiment tag.

For this, ink blending was easy with the beach stencil. The featured Unity Stamp Company stamp and sentiment are from the July 2026 Whit-Kit card kit membership called Cool Goose Summer. To make the scene pop, I used die-cuts from Deckle and Stitches nesting dies.

To begin, here is a look at the finished card.
Sentiment:  Soak up the sunshine!

Additionally, this is a look at the Whit-Kit Membership for July 2026.  There is also a
one-time full kit and the stamps only.

Helpful Tips:

1.       Prepare a vertical scored white card base 4 ¼” x 5 ½”.
2.       Die-cut a rectangle on white cardstock using the next-to-largest Deckle & Stitches nesting die.
3.       Stamp the goose twice: once on the bottom right of the deckle rectangle piece and again on masking or scrap paper.
4.       Fussy cut (cut out) the extra duck.
5.       Color the duck using markers of choice.  I used shades of tan, yellow, light orange, red and light gray.
6.       Mask the duck.  Place repositionable adhesive behind the cut duck piece or use masking sheets.
7.       Temporarily adhere the cut duck piece over the colorful duck on the rectangle panel.
8.       Using By the Shore stencil, ink blend the beachy scene with light tan and three shades of teal dye ink.
9.       Remove the duck masking.
10.    Stamp then trim the sentiment onto white cardstock.
11.    Adhere the card front and sentiment tag over the card base using double-sided foam tape or glue.

In summary, this was relatively simple to make.  Just pick your stamp and a complementary background and put them inside the same scene together.

Joyous Village, Whit- kit

Card Inspiration using Joyous Village, Whit-kit.

I fell in love with this paper pack. I know I say I love the paper pack with each kit but it is true. They just keep getting better and better!

I trimmed down a piece of the patterned paper from the kit and stamped the tress directly onto the patterned paper. Then stamped one of the houses onto a pice of white card stock with black Copic friendly ink and then fussy cut it.

I then stamped all five little snowflakes. I lined them up in the MISTI. This way I could stamp them all at one time but it would be easy to do with a stamp block as well.

I then distressed the edges of the patterned paper with some scissors. Next I cut a blue piece of card stock for the mat and distressed the edges of that as well. Ink splattered some  distress ink to the card panel. I colored the house with some red Copic markers. Stamped the sentiment out and embossed it with white embossing powder. Assembled it all onto a red card base. Popping up the house and sentiment with foam tape.

Second card

Well I had to make another card because I needed to use that snow bank stencil.

Yet again, drawn to another one of the patterned papers. I thought this would make a beautiful sky with snowy banks in the foreground.

I trimmed down the patterned paper to 4″ x 5.25″ along with a white card base. Took the stencil and some distress ink (tumbled glass) and made the snowy banks with a blending brush. Then fussy cut the banks to add to the patterned paper background. I stamped, colored, and cut out three houses. I stamped and embossed the sentiment. Die cut it with the Scalloped & Stitched Sentiment nesting dies.

Then I popped up the snow banks and houses with foam tape. I die cut one of the snowflake dies that came in this kit with white card stock and ink blended it and added a snowflake embellishment.

Happy Saturday crafters!  Echo here with some inspiration using the Letters to Santa, Whit-kit. Which I love a postage inspired stamp kit so much. It also pairs well with the Postage Stamp nesting die set that came in a past Whit-kit or you can buy just the dies not in the kit as well.

For this card I used the Postage Stamp nesting dies with some of the beautiful patterned paper that came in this month’s kit! I ink blended the edges with distress oxide in broken china. Stamped some of the postage images from the stamp kit. Ink splatter in the same distress oxide ink. Popped up  the Merry Christmas banner with foam tape.Added some twine and a snowflake embellishment that came from a past Whit-kit.

This little gift card envelopes are just so darn cute. I stamped the front of it with the stamp kit and ink blended the edges with distress ink in vintage photo. You can add the cool wax seal to the back of the envelope with out having to melt wax and all that! Super easy to slip this envelope with your gift card into a card.

Second card inspiration

 

Big surprise I used the Postage Stamp nesting dies for this card as well. I just can’t help myself. I took some of the patterned paper from the kit and added a piece of torn green card stock along the side. Die cut it with the largest postage stamp die and ink blended the edges with distress ink in vintage photo. Ink splattered the background with distress oxide ink in rustic wilderness. Stamped images over the two smaller postage stamp die cuts and ink blended the edges as well. Stamped the sentiment and added twine and some green enamel dots.

Happy Saturday crafters!  Echo here with some inspiration using the Dream Chaser, Whit-kit. Such a fun kit! I love the fall watercolor patterned paper pack that comes in this kit!

For this card I decided to do some paper piecing!  I have not any paper piecing for awhile and I thought it would be fun to do paper piecing using this months kit.

Stamp out image on all the patterned paper you want to use. I am going to paper piece the dress and the hat. If you haven’t tried paper piecing it’s a must. It reminds me of the old paper dolls. Wait, did I just age myself…lol!

Cut out the elements that you want to paper piece. In this instance I am doing just the hat and the dress. After you fussy cut run a black marker along the cut edges. This will give your cuts a cleaner look. Then adhere to the stamped image. I did color the band around the hat red with a Copic marker. Just to give it a bit of pop.

I used the big scallops & rectangles nesting dies. Added a pink sheer bow and some embellishments.

Let’s Stick Together, Whit-kit

Happy Saturday crafters!  Echo here with some inspiration using the Let’s Stick Together, Whit-kit. I am such a sucker for succulents/cactus plants! This kit was so much fun to play with and the clearly Unity stamps worked perfect for this kit!

For this card I layered two of the patterned papers. I used the Make a Tag die set. Stamped the sentiment in black ink and then stamped the images. Made a quick messy bow and added the flower and jewel embellishment.

For this card I wanted to use some of the mullberry paper from the kit. I picked out two of the patterned papers that I liked together. Die cutting the back panel with the Deckle & Stitches nesting dies. Then I tore a strip of the mullberry paper and glued it down to the die cut panel. Then I die cut the heart using the Stitched Up Hearts die set. Added some green twine that came from a past Whit-kit. Popped up with foam tape and stamped sentiment and images.

As you all know by now I can’t just make one card with these kits. So for this last card I made using this months Whit-kit. I stamped the images and colored the pot with Copic markers. Then die cut using the Make a Tag die set again. Used distress inks around the edges of the tag and stamped image. I tore up some of the mullberry paper and distressed it before glueing to tag. Added the twine and cute little paperclip from the kit. Picked out the patterned paper I wanted and stamped the sentiment. Distressed the edges and ink splattered.

Hydrangea Love Whit-kit

Hydrangea Love,Whit-kit

Happy Saturday crafters!  Echo here with some inspiration using the Hydrangea Love, Whit-kit. Such a great kit this month. I love the shabby chic vibes this kit has. Everything from the stamp image to the patterned paper. The mica powder gives a subtle sparkle that fits perfectly in this kit as well.

Card Inspiration

For this card I stamped the hydrangea image twice using Versafine Clair ink in nocturne onto a grey card panel. Die cut the panel using the BIG Scallops & Rectangles nesting dies. I also used the large scallop to die cut a piece of the patterned paper. Stamped the little petals onto a piece of white card stock with black Copic friendly ink. I did some quick Copic coloring of the petals and then fussy cut.

I ink blended the stamped grey card panel edges with distress ink in black soot. Paint splattered the grey card panel with diluted white acrylic paint and set aside to dry. Stamped the sentiment and die cut with the Scallopes & Banners nesting dies. Assembled the card onto pink card base and popped up petals with foam tape and add gems to the center of the petals. Then I finished it off with a pink sheer bow.

For this card I used the same BIG Scallopes & Rectangles nesting dies. I stamped the hydrangea image onto a piece of watercolor paper with Versafine Clair ink in nocturne and watercolored image. Then I applied the mica powder onto the card panel while it was still wet. It’s hard to photograph but it is super shimmery in person.

Ink splattered and ink blended the card panel and then added purple embellishments. Stamped sentiment and embossed with white embossing powder. Added twine and assembled card.
