Let’s Make Pour Decisions

Happy Holidays, Crafty Friends! As we find ourselves in the midst of festive celebrations (and perhaps a few cocktails!), let’s raise a glass to creativity! Unity is joining the fun with two delightful new stamp sets: “Pour Decisions Background” and “Corks & Giggles.” So, pop the tops off your Copics, and let’s make some colorful crafting decisions!

Coloring Tips for Wine Bottle Fun:

I turned to images of wine bottles for inspiration and recommend focusing on one bottle at a time for ease. Feel free to look up colors from your favorite wines—or the recipient’s!

Bottle Colors:

  • Greens & Blues: G07, B26, YG97

  • Yellows & Reds: Y11, R02, R21, R89, Y26

Once colored, I used C1 to create subtle shadows on the left side of each bottle, adding depth and dimension. For a finishing touch, I blended Hickory Smoke Distress Ink around the edges, drawing attention to the center.

Crafting the Perfect Card:

  1. Trim your artwork to 4″ x 5.25″ and prepare a black mat at 4.125″ x 5.375″.

  2. Stamp a fun sentiment from the “Corks & Giggles” set on white cardstock. Use the Scallop & Stitched Sentiment Dies to cut it out.

  3. Die cut a black version of the same shape from the middle of your mat (no one will see this part—waste not, want not!). Layer the white sentiment over the black, punch a hole, and secure with an eyelet using a Crop-a-Dile. String ribbon or twine through the hole for a festive touch.

  4. Adhere the sentiment with foam tape, layer everything onto your card base, and voilà—a Wine in a Million card!

Plan a Winederful Weekend

Let’s make a toast for Fridays!! This is Julissa of Paper Gems by Jules on the blog today sharing a flight of cards using the new Planner Gal: Winederful stamp set.  This sophisticated and cute ladies is capping off her work week with a glass of wine.  Whether you prefer a crisp white wine, a bold red wine or a sweet rosé, this stamp’s for you!

To start this card, I stamped the Planner Gal and then the sentiment on the left side. Using the Scallops & Stitched Rectangles die, I die cut her out and colored her using Copics and some Distress Ink on the edges.

For the background, I used the Drink & Cuss stamp set and repeat stamped the drinks and the sentiment over and over on the left hand side.  Once that ink dried, I ink blended the same Distress Ink color over just the one edge.

  • Hair:  E84, Y28, Y21
  • Skin:  E31, E21, E51
  • Wine:  N2, N0, Y00, Y000
  • Flower:  Y11, Y00, Y000
  • Shirt and Table:  C6, C4, C2

Distress Ink:  Scattered Straw

Onto the next glass… and we’re doing red.  This could be a Cabernet, a Malbec or maybe a Pinot Noir… whatever your favorite red is, this Planner Gal has got you!  Using the same technique on a landscape card, this card is just as sweet.

Copics Used:

  • Hair:  E18, E19, E15
  • Skin:  E11, E21, E51
  • Wine:  RV69, R89, R29, R27
  • Flower:  E89, R29, R27
  • Shirt and Table:  C6, C4, C2

Distress Ink:  Fired Brick

So let’s cap things off with a Rosé, Moscato or maybe a Zinfandel.  This sweet wine is paired so well with this sweet girl with pinks and peaches.

Let’s Party Girls!!

I’m so not even close to done with Christmas cards, but maybe I’ll just work on sending out cards for New Years!? ????????‍♀️ Hey everyone! It’s Julissa of Paper Gems by Jules and boy do I miss happy hour with friends!  I recently pulled out this oldie, but goodie set from the Fashionistas line called “Party Girls.”  These two sophisticated girls are ready to paint the town red and celebrate… and we’re all going to celebrate when 2020 is OVER!

Making this card was pretty simple.  I stamped the girls and colored them in using Copics.  For fun accents, I used a gold pen on the girl in the blue dress to add sequins to her top and make her shoes gold.  I used a silver pen on the belt buckle of the girl in the two piece suit.

Next I stamped the script “cheers” from the “Heart of Christmas” Sentiment Stamp Set using VersaFine ink.  I embossed it with clear embossing powder to make it stand out.  Once dry, I stamped the “Happy New Year” from the same “Heart of Christmas” set.

Last, using distress ink, I shaded the edges before die cutting it and layering it on black card stock before adhering it on the blush card base.  Let’s not forget to send some celebratory cards to friends and family and start the new year with positivity and good vibes!
