Hi everyone, Laurel here. You know, if someone were to ask me what tools I could not live without in my craft room right up there, although, not sure they are tools, are my foam squares. I use them on pretty much every project. Such an easy way to add some dimension and interest.
Today I am sharing a trio of clean and simple cards with the focus being on the clip board from the Love Story Clips SMAK kit.
Here is the kit so you can see which stamp I started with. I am always a sucker for anything ‘officy’ – you know, pens, papers, pencils, notebooks, clipboards – perhaps it is the teacher in me 😉
Anyways, I love this set and I like to stretch my kits in many ways so today I have combined that clipboard with other stamps. The first thing I did was stamp and create the clipboards. First I stamped it on white card stock. Then, I stamped the ‘clip’ on gray paper and cut it out, and mounted on foam squares to mimic an actual clip. Then I went to work, creating some cards.
First up, I started with this card, that cute little birdie is from the Small Things Matter Most KOTM. I stamped him on the clipboard as well as on some cardstock. I love fussy cutting, but those little legs… no thank you 😉 I just popped up the body on foam squares. The hello was die cut and tucked under the clip. Finally I stamped the sentiment from the kit on a speech bubble and mounted it on foam squares as well.
Next up, I really wanted it to look like a little note tucked under so I punched the edge of a journal card and stamped a sentiment from the You Are Loved kit. Yes you have seen it before… I have used the arrow from that kit a few times! Anyways, I also stamped it on some cardstock, cut out the heart, stapled and mounted on foam squares. I then wrinkled the paper before adhering. As a final touch I added the twine and the die cut letters.
Finally, I created one that is a bit more detailed. I always seem to sneak an Angie Girl into my projects. I used the Planner Gal – Today – I am drawn to shorter hair for some reason 😉 I paper pieced and mounted her on foam squares as well. The sentiment is from the I am more stamp. Once again as a final touch, I added twine and some fussy cut flowers.
So there you have it… I could not live without my foam squares – well hypothetically speaking of course. What about you, what is a must have in your crafting?
