Hello Friends!
It’s Mandi here with another installment of Mix It Up.
Today I am sharing a rustic Christmas tree ornament,
featuring the girl and snowflakes from the Season’s of Life stamp set.
I bought this wooden heart from my local craft store.
I knew it would make a great background for my Unity stamps.
It came painted and distressed already but I wanted a white background not the grey colour it came with.
So I just give it a quick coat of white paint, then when it was dry I sanded the ridges with some sand paper to give it that distressed look.
Next I used my regular archival ink to stamp the girl and snowflakes on to the wooden heart.
It s totally fine if you do not get the entire outline of the stamp.
Then to colour I used my acrylic paints and a small paint brush.
You can see where I used most of of the colours.
I mixed some of the white paint with a tiny bit of the cinnamon to create the flesh colour for her face.
Once the paint was completely dry. I took my sand paper again and sanded the ridges.
Then added a coat of gel distress medium to give it a protective finish.
I will leave you with another look of my finished Christmas tree ornament.
I so love that worn wood look.
I want to make a whole bunch of them using different Angie girls to hang on my tree.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Happy crafting!
