Hi friends! Whit here sharing something that is close to my heart.. stampin’ and giving back!
I am sure you’ve all heard about the devastation that Australia has faced due to wildfires engulfing most of the country– we wanted to be able to help people and wildlife who have been affected so we came up with this adorable stamp set:
50% of proceeds from Koala-ty Friendship will be donated to help– together we CAN make a difference!
As soon as I knew we were doing this I knew I had to make some cards with these cuties– not only are the images adorable but the sentiments are those I know I will reach for over and over– what’s better than sentiments about friendship and helping?
That koala with the balloon just drew me in– it was meant for a cloudy sky!
So today I am going to share with you 2 different methods of making a cloudy looking sky using similar products that you likely already have on hand.
So settle in and check this out– cause you’re going to want to try this once you’re done watching 😉
Here’s a closer peek at the cloudy sky I created using a DIY stencil I made using some dies I had on hand.
I love the smoothness of the combination of the ink blending and the Copic Markers. I kept the coloring really simple- honestly this image doesn’t require a lot of shading to be adorable.
The cloudy sky with ink smooshing really turned out awesome– I think the key to creating a sky with depth is drying and adding layers in between so it almost looks like there are clouds in front and behind.
It just seemed natural to finish off this look off with with a bit of watercolor for this image.
Every card, in my opinion, needs a little sparkle— so for finishing touches on these cuties I added a bit of shimmer to the balloons using some Liquid Pixie Dust and then a few of our Unity Confetti Sequins in the color Moonshine.
So which method are you wanting to try first? If you recreate this look share with us over on the Unity {show & tell} and be sure to tag me!
I simply cannot wait to see what you create and want to thank you for taking the time to hang out with me today sharing with you something that is really close to my heart.
XOXO
