Hi everyone! This is Jules of Paper Gems by Jules sharing a fun way to use lots of mediums that you may have in your stash! Many of us have been quarantined for a while and have a little more extra time that usual. Well, no time better than now to pull out some new products (or maybe some old ones) and play! These limited edition digi-stamps by Unity Stamp Co. are a great new addition to your card making and I wanted to share a really fun way to use it with some mixed medias!
I started by printing the adorable little baby and one sentiment from the “Snuggle Time” digital stamp. I trimmed it down using my Hero Arts Infinity Rectangle Dies and then cut out the lower end and put it aside. Now, here’s where the fun begins!
I started 3/4ths down the card stock with Broken China Distress Oxides, followed by Faded Denim Oxide above it. Last I added a little bit of Black Soot Oxide to add a darker feel to the night sky. Next, I laid the My Favorite Things – Star Celebration stencil over my colored card stock. Using DecoFoil Transfer gel, I covered the colored portion of the card stock with the gel leaving pretty white stars… add some patience, because you’re going to have to let this dry.
Once the DecoFoil gel is dried, you can foil it. I used the “Silver Star” foil and ran it through my laminator. It’s like magic!!! Next… get that cute baby image and color it with your favorite medium. I used Copics for this card. Once your done coloring, adhere it to the back ground and you’re almost done. Add that piece to your card base and move your card back and forth to see all that glimmer!
To watch how this card all happened, check out this fun video tutorial. It’s my first one, so sorry if it’s a little choppy, but I’m glad I could share some of my growing pains with all of you. I truly hope you enjoyed this idea and can’t wait to see more of what you make with all the fun digistamps! But don’t wait too long to get yours as they are limited editions!!
Thanks again and happy crafting!
Jules
