Good morning! I’m back today for the weekly Monday feature for me here on the Unity Stamp Company Blog! So happy to be featuring the AMAZING Unity Kit of the Month set on Mondays here on the blog. These kits are always AMAZING, and they hold a special place in my heart since they were the first thing I purchased from Unity, and what got me hooked on Unity to begin with. Who DOESN’T love getting a happy package of stamps in the mail every month, right? And these kits just keep getting better and better. You can read all the details and info to sign up HERE, and see this month’s kit as well.
Today’s card features some fun monochromatic stripes, and a sneaky and fun trick to create a perfect twine bow – one of my favorites, and something I haven’t done for a while!
Here is the video for today’s card:
While I did the stripes on an oval, you could easily recreate the same thing on any other shape you prefer. If you do rectangles or squares, you don’t even need to have dies! You could use your paper trimmer instead.
The easiest way to see how the bow comes together is to watch the video – but the quick verbal explanation is to punch or poke a small hole through your layers, push up a small look of twine from the back, loop some twine around your fingers to form the bow and tuck through the loop, then pull the loop tight from the back. Tie a knot, then tape the ends down in the back to hold it all in place.
Adding the image on vellum helps soften the paper layers to show off the intricate image, an enamel dot in the center of the bow to hide a bit of adhesive to hold it firmly in place, and a simple hand trimmed banner for the sentiment finishes this card off!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hope to see you back here next week – have a wonderful week!
