Hi everyone, I can’t believe its Sunday already! Time for me sure has been flying by!
Today we are going to do a little of everything form mixed media style to paper piecing. So lets get started and Mix it up!
I LOVE to paper piece. It is one of my go to’s when I am stumped on what to make.
You will see here I paper pieced Addison Girl with some beautiful flower paper I bought form Hobby Lobby ( aka the Lob ) called Theodosia Square by Paper Studio.
I was going for a vintage feel and thought this paper would be perfect…
I used my colored pencils around the lines in her dress to give it some dimension and depth. I just love how she turned out. I colored her hair, skin, shoes and bag with Copic markers.
For the Background paper I used March SMAK Normal is boring and inked up the edges with Vintage photo to give it an aged look.
For under her dress to give it some fun I added some White Tulle for more dimension.
Paper piecing is such a fun way to make unique cards.
This next card in our Mix it up Sunday was a fun one to make. This kit form Jolande and Marleen. Its called Happy
I used Oxide and Distress inks by Tim Holtz to get this effect. I took my blending tool and blended the background colors then took Tim Holtz stampers anonymous stencils and picked some Oxide colors to make things POP!
I used an old book and stamped the dragonfly on it and then used watercolors to color it in and fussy cut it out.
- Kit used Happy
So bright and cheery! I added Wink of Stella on the wings to give it some shimmer!
So for our last Mix it up card I used form the same designers Jolande and Marleen , This kit is called Hug. It has so many beautiful stamps in it!
I water colored this one, I just love how the different depths of blues turned out.
I really hope you all enjoyed our Mix it up Sunday today. If you give this a try tag me in the Unity Show and Tell. I would love to see what you have created.
Well that’s all for me toady. I hope you have a wonderful Sunday and as always keep crafting!
