Gingham… what more can I say?!
Do you love gingham as much as I do? Seriously I am a sucker for anything gingham – I think it is the country girl at heart in me.
I am sharing a couple of cards today using some of my favorite stamps – so favorite in fact… that I first had them from Unity with the wooden back! Do any of you still have those?! I have since replaced them with cling rubber ones… but either way – gingham, ledger, interlined… some of these stamp sets are my favorites.
Today I am playing with Gurnsey Gingham and Vintage Ledger.
The Gurnsey Gingham is very country so I had to pair it up with some of the fun food/drink stamps we have.
First up, another favorite of mine… cherries…. oh how I look forward to the fresh cherries off of our tree each year! My absolute favorite fruit.
I have used You Bing Me Joy – check out those cute cherries!
I stamped and paper pieced the little guys and then I stamped and cut out some of the flowers. I crumpled the gingham piece just to add a bit of interest. I also added some messy real stitching and also some stamped ones from the Time to Be Happy Again LOL set.
Now in keeping with the same basic sketch, I wanted to create a more detailed card so I added another layer. This time I stamped and cut out the Vintage Ledger image. Again, the gingham image has been crumpled for interest.
Doesn’t that gingham look great in blue too?! This is my favorite color of blue… makes my heart happy a good country blue which I thought worked well for a lemonade themed card so I paired it up with the Live Half Full stamp set.
Again, some real and faux stitching using the Time to Be Happy Again set.
What do you think? Have I convinced you that you need this gingham stamp? Are you a country lover like me?
