Hello Crafty friends! It is Natasha here back for a new week to share an idea using pattern paper and some simple stamping to create Artist Trading Cards! This project was inspired by the beautiful Vintage Naturalist Paper pack – I love the butterflies on the pattern paper, they created beautiful inspiration for my project! So let’s get started!
I was recently inspired by a crafty friend using the heart Impresslit embossing die, I had to get it from my stash and thought it would pair perfectly with the Vintage Naturalist paper pack. I started by trimming the paper to fit the die, then I did a little ink blending with Distress Oxide Ink directly overt the pattern paper. I used: Frayed Burlap and Vintage Photo. Then I ran the die with the paper through my die cutting machine to get the dry embossed heart with the butterfly at the center. I repeated this process several times to create 4 hearts. I had a couple mistakes along the way, but that truly is my favorite part of crafting, learning and growing. Once the hearts were complete, I added Foundry Wax in the color Mined to all the edges of the hearts. I then set these aside.
Next I chose pattern paper for the backgrounds for the ATC. I chose paper from my stash. I then trimmed the paper to an ATC size using a die in my stash. If you do not have a die, you can use a paper trimmer and cut down to 2.5 by 3.5 to create an ATC. Next I stamped the Floral from the Troubles Be Few stamp set in Morning Mist ink from Versafine. This stamp set is so beautiful, as the stamp provides a beautiful floral image with text! Perfect for adding texture quickly to a background.
I then added more texture to the panel by applying pattern paper strips to the center of the ATC. Before adhering them down, I applied Distress Ink in Ground Espresso, then adhered them with liquid glue. I completed my projects by adding Foundry Wax to the edges of the ATC’s, as well as adhering cheesecloth under the hearts. The sentiments are from the Heart to Heart stamp set. I added these to the project with paper clips!
Thank you so much for stopping by today! I will be back next week with more crafty inspiration!
