Cute dog card with colored pencils on kraft

Hello and welcome to the Unity blog.  It’s Gaylynn. Sometimes, simply layered cards present the focal image perfectly. This cute pup looks perfect in these simple paper layers. The technique focus is colored pencils on kraft color cardstock. It was simple to make this.

This card project features fun Unity Stamp Company stamps called Pawty Law No. 1 stamps. To create this card, use stamps, colored pencils, die-cutting and patterned paper. I include project tips, a short video and supplies below.

 

To begin, here is a look at the finished card.
Sentiment:   Happy Birthday. You make life a little sweeter.

Helpful tips:

  • Prepare a horizontal A2 card base in white.
  • Stamp the pup from Pawty Law No. 1 stamps and the sentiment onto different pieces of kraft-colored cardstock.
  • Color the pup scene using colored pencils that coordinate with the paper layers.
  • Die-cut a rectangle background from rectangle dies and from patterned paper and white and kraft color oval layers from oval dies.
  • Die-cut the sentiment using sentiment nesting dies.
  • Optionally, die-cut a paper bow.
  • Using flat and foam double-sided tape, layer everything onto the card front.

A Cozy Card with Pups, Books, and Banners

Hi friends.  Welcome to the Unity blog.  I’m Gaylynn.  Today, we are making simple banner layers to accent the sweetest pups and books themed stamps.  For the main image, I used Dog-Eared Days stamps.  And the flag banners incorporate the Once Upon A Page background stamp..

I kept the colors light and airy so that the stamps could pop.  More details follow.

Sentiment:
You’ve been on my mind.

Helpful Tips:

  1. Precut and score a white A2 sized card base for a vertical card.

  2. Stamp the dog, the books and the sentiments onto pieces of smooth white cardstock using black alcohol-friendly ink.

  3. Color the stamping. I used Copic markers in brown, tan, rose and red.

  4. Die-cut the dog panel using rectangle nesting dies.

  5. Trim or die-cut the sentiment into small banner or flag.

  6. Trim or die-cut the books into a longer banner or flag shape.

  7. Layer and adhere the banners to the dog panel with an optional twine bow.

  8. Die-cut or trim the peach background panel from color cardstock.

  9. Layer and adhere the background and elements to the card base using thin foam or flat double-sided tape or glue.

Watercolor Dog Themed Pet Greetings 5 Cards

Warm greetings, Gaylynn here.  These are watercolor dog themed pet greetings for dog lovers, pet condolences, adoption, rescue or cute love occasion cards. Of course, these adorable pups can stand on their own. But, I decided to make some of them Valentine or love themed. The cards are easily made for pet adoption or loss. I used watercolor to color all of the dogs.  The supplies are noted below.

Also, patterned paper from the same paper pack was used as accents for these watercolor dog themed cards.

Helpful Tips:

  1. Prepare five A2-sized side fold card bases from white cardstock, 4 1/4″ x 5.5″ folded.

  2. Stamp the dogs, sentiments and accents using black waterproof ink onto the smooth side of white watercolor cardstock, for each of the card front panels.

  3. Using the watercolor of choice, watercolor the stamped panels. I used watercolor colors from a pan set.

  4. Heat set the watercoloring or allow them to dry completely.

  5. Die-cut the watercolor panels and the sentiments.

  6. From a paper pack with similar colors, trim layers, accents and borders for paper accents.

  7. Optional: Die-cut extra sentiment icons and add them to the cards.

  8. Finally, adhere all of the layers over the card base using double-sided adhesive or glue.

  9. Use what you have on hand to get started. I list the supplies that I used in this project, but incorporate what you already have.

Sentiment:  Love you.

Sentiment:  You have such a good heart. Love you.

Sentiment:  You’re my person. Be mine.

Sentiment:  A little love goes a long way. Be mine.

Layered Flag Card Accents and Copic Marker Coloring

Hi there.  For today, I am sharing layered flag card accents and Copic marker coloring.  For added detail, I trimmed solid and plaid patterned paper.

Using shapes like flags offer an easy way to dress up card making.

Sentiment:   YIP!

Helpful Tips:

In summary, to create using layered flag card accents, trim or die-cut all the accent and background panels and layer them together where possible.  Also, stamp the dog and sentiment onto ivory cardstock and trim that flag layer.  Then, add color to the dog panel.  I used Copic markers, but use what you have.  Try to blend layers of color in the same color family to build up shades.  Finally, layer all of the panels over the card base using flat or foam double-sided tape or glue to finish.  Optional, add adhesive gems, dots or pearls for embellishment.

Heart shaped card ~ puppy dog love

Happy Valentine’s Day friends.  Gaylynn here.  For today, I am sharing an adorable puppy dog heart shaped card with an uplifting message.

I just love that face.  This is also a fun pun card for Valentine’s Day or any time.
(This cute stamp set will be available later today.  It is a sneak peek of one of the sets coming up at Unity Stamp Co.)

Paws a moment to enjoy the little things today.

Helpful Tips:

To make this card combining woodgrain and florals, begin by stamping the background in alcohol-friendly ink onto white or kraft color cardstock.  Also, stamp the mug and the sentiment on white.  Then, trim or die-cut all of the panels.  Next, add color to the woodgrain and to the mug of flowers.  I used Copic markers for coloring, but use what you have.  Optional, add splatters to the colored panels.  Then, layer the background and the mug panels using flat double-sided tape.  Finally, layer the sentiment with thin foam tape for a bit of dimension, to finish.

Dog Silhouette card set!

Happy Sunday crafters, Echo here with some doggy inspiration! Who here is a dog lover? I have three dogs. Our oldest (Bella) is 15 and she is a Chocolate Lab/Australian Shepard mix. The middle dog (Winston) is 12. He is a Lab/ Catahoula mix and the youngest pup (Pico) is 2. She is a Havanese. I would probably have more but I also would like to stay married.

Here is my motley crew when we were out camping this summer! Marlo my daughter likes to be pretend she is a dog sometimes. In her defense she is out numbered by dogs!
