Hello, it’s Gaylynn here with another installment of my Watercolor Wednesday series. I will show a way to use chalk ink to watercolor with stamping.
For today’s project, I created a mixed media style gift tag with chalk ink used as watercolor, along with embossed stamping.

I made a video tutorial for this gift tag, showing you a way to use chalk inks with stamping. It includes instructions along the way throughout the video, however, a written process follows below.
Watercolor with Prima Chalk Edgers and Stamping

(See also the video tutorial for this project.)
For watercolor, I used Prima Chalk Edgers. I first stamped & heat embossed in white onto watercolor paper.
On a plastic craft mat or an acrylic block, apply colors of choice. I used Tin Can, Old Rose, Vintage Pink & Rose Bud.
With a wide brush, add water to watercolor paper by color section. Lightly dab color onto the wet paper areas.
Add more water and another color. Allow the colors to move and blend where they meet.
Add a pop of darker color in a few dabs and then allow it to move. Heat set.
I added modeling paste with a stencil for texture. Then, I added watercolor to flower embellishments.
Chalk edgers dry quickly, so adding more water helps with blending. Work faster using them.
Layer and assemble the tag.
Here is another look at my vintage mixed media style watercolor tag.
