Hi Everyone! Welcome to another Make it Monday! Today I’m sharing with you how to create your own Halloween Home Decor sign with Unity Stamp Co. The Coop is Haunted set which is part of the July ’26 Kit of the Month.

Supplies:

  1. Unity Stamp Co. The Coop is Haunted
  2. Unity Stamp Co. Deckle & Stitches {nesting dies}
  3. Unity Stamp Co. Scallops & Banners {nesting dies}
  4. Unity Stamp Co. Distressed Dots
  5. Small wooden arrow sign (sourced from Dollar Tree or similar store)
  6. Acrylic paint in black and green
  7. Distress Oxide inks in Twisted Citron and Ripe Persimon
  8. White cardstock
  9. Black ink (alcohol marker compatible)
  10. Alcohol markers
  11. Embellishments such as Halloween themed die cuts and googly eyes

Tutorial:

Step 1: Stamp the costumed chickens with alcohol marker compatible black ink onto a piece of white cardstock. Color with alcohol markers.

Step 2: Die cut the chickens with the third largest Deckle & Stitches die. Partial die cut one edge to make it more square shape.

Step 3: Stamp a sentiment onto white cardstock. Die cut with a Scallops & Banners die.

Step 4: Ink blend Distress Oxide Twisted Citron onto the banner die cut. Then, ink blend Distress Oxide Ripe Persimmon along the edges.

Step 5: Paint the wooden sign with black acrylic paint. Let it dry.

Step 6: Using the Distressed Dots background stamp, stamp onto the painted sign with Distress Oxide Twisted Citron and Ripe Persimmon.

Step 7: Paint the edges of the sign with green acrylic paint.

Step 8: Adhere the ink blended sentiment onto the right side of the sign. Next, adhere the costumed chickens towards the left of the sign, overlapping the sentiment banner.

Step 9: Add embellishments. I used die cut zig zags and candy popped up on foam. For added fun, I adhered googly eyes to two of the costumed chickens.

What an amusing sign you can use for Halloween home decor! Hang it on your door, on a mantel, or by the candy bowl. You could also use glow-in-the-dark paint for an added spooky element. Autumn mountain fox scene card & stencil tutorial

Hello, Gaylynn here.  Creating a fox mountain scene card is easy with a mix of Autumn colors and ink layers.  Today on the Unity blog, I am sharing a way to make this outdoor scene featuring a fox, trees and mountain stenciling.

By using autumn colors for stenciling and adding colorful leaves in paint, this fox mountain scene card came to life.

Helpful tips:
These are helpful tips for making this fox mountain scene card.  To begin, trim or die-cut a card front.  Then, stamp the sentiment, two trees and a fox for the main focus.  Next, add ink blending to the mountain stencil layers, alternating Fall colors.  Also, color in the fox and make a separate mask using another fox stamped paper piece.  Then, die-cut the blessed word.  Next, using Fall colors of acrylic paint, dab tiny dots of colorful paint over the tree branches.  Then, allow the paint to dry or gently heat set the card front.  Finally, layer it all onto the card base, to finish.

Distress Oxide Ink and Acrylic Paint Ocean Sky

Good morning! I’m back today for the weekly Monday feature for me here on the Unity Stamp Company Blog! So happy to be featuring the AMAZING Unity Kit of the Month set on Mondays here on the blog. These kits are always AMAZING, and they hold a special place in my heart since they were the first thing I purchased from Unity, and what got me hooked on Unity to begin with. Who DOESN’T love getting a happy package of stamps in the mail every month, right? And these kits just keep getting better and better. Today I have a slimline card to share – with a fun background technique using Distress Oxide inks and white acrylic paint!

Here is the video for today’s card:

The background was created by blending some distress oxide inks on a panel of white cardstock, then dabbing white paint along the transition point for a soft layered look.

You can see more in the video – but I did learn that it would be preferred to stamp with Stazon ink so that it wouldn’t be as likely to smear where it is stamped over the shiny surface of the paint. Distress oxides were not the ideal choice, since they ended up smearing a bit on my finished card.

I hear embossed the sentiment in white on black cardstock, then trimmed it down and mounted it with foam adhesive in the center of the stamped images. A few sparkly white jewels cover up the main smear on the fence, and add a good bit of sparkle on the card as well!

Mixed media art stamped tissue paper canvas.

Hello.  It’s Gaylynn with my Technique Time series.  Today, I am sharing a mixed media art tissue paper canvas using stamping and acrylic paint.

This is an inspirational themed stamped tissue paper canvas with a rustic look.  This involves a few steps.  See below for details and a video tutorial on how this canvas was created.

Helpful tips:

Here are helpful tips for creating this stamped tissue paper canvas.  To begin, stamp tissue paper with selected art or words.  Then, tear the tissue to separate the sections.  Next, mix a dab of acrylic paint into a bit of matte gel for each color.  For ease, use a plastic craft mat or palette to separate colors.  Have on hand a pre-primed stretched canvas or prime a canvas and then leave it to dry.  Next, make a background using swipes of three premixed paint colors.  It helps to use a foam blending brush.  Then, assemble the tissue paper pieces onto the wet paint and then brush each tissue section with uncolored matte gel.  Once that has completely dried overnight, blend distress ink around all edges for a rustic look.  Finally, add your choice of extra embellishments or accents to finish.

Festive Mason Jar Decor

Hello Friends!

It’s Mandi here with another Mix it Up post for you.

Today I am sharing a mason jar I decorated with the lovely Joy Girl stamp.

I LOVE making these mason jars.

I started off by chalk painting a large mason jar.

Mine needed two coats.

Next I took my black Archival Ink and stamped my girl on to the jar.

It is totally fine if you do not get the whole image or it over stamps a little.

Next I am colouring her outfit using these Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens

 I like the light sparkle they leave on the chalk paint.

They do look patchy when you first apply then they dry pretty even.

Next for her skin tone I am using acrylic paint.

I mixed two drops of Cream and one drop of Cinnamon to get the the colour I wanted.

Then for her hair colour I just used an Archival Black Pen.

  I then stamped some of the snowflakes from the kit around the edge of the girl.

Next I used some Glitterific paint and coated the entire jar.

This is the clear version that has holographic glitter pieces through it.

I used a foam brush to apply the paint as it is quite thick.

Use just one stoke of the paint over the girl so that the glitter pens do not smear.

I found that if I went back and forth with the brush they would start to bleed.

Finally when the  paint dried I added some red chunky twine around the top of the jar.

Here is another look at the finished jar. It is really glittery in real life.
