Vellum stamping, embossing, and inking!

Happy Saturday crafters, Echo here with a video tutorial packed with a bunch of techniques packed into one card. We have stamping and embossing on vellum. Did you know you can color with Copics on vellum and use alcohol inks? Also ink blending that looks incredible with a spritz of water. All while attaching it to a stamped background with no tape or glue showing! Let’s dive in.

I can’t wait to keep trying this technique with different stamps and backgrounds. The added bonus of no tape or glue showing on the vellum! I could have done either Copic markers or alcohol inks. I just chose both because I wasn’t sure if the alcohol ink would cover the flowers completely. For more of a clean look. Then just the use of alcohol markers would work great. I do love the loose water color look from the alcohol inks. If I was to do this again I might drop the Copic coloring and just use only alcohol inks. But today was just a day of playing and experimenting. I am super happy the tape doesn’t show through the vellum. The skeptic in my wasn’t sure it was going to work! I do have a mess in my craft room from all the different products I was pulling out and experimenting with. Just play days are the best days though. No regrets..lol

Happy Thursday crafters! Echo here from Stamp N Ground. I am hosting the Anything Green March Challenge over on the Unity Show N Tell Facebook group. I went a bit overboard and made three cards to share with you all today! Today I’m sharing three different backgrounds using green alcohol inks. Then I turn them into three cards using Say It Big, Tin Tile background, Daisy Girl, Coffee Components  and Luck To Go stamp kits.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

These first two cards was my original idea. I wanted to do an alcohol ink background and use the alcohol lift ink to back a second background. I couldn’t let all the ink that was left over from the first background go to waste. So I made a bonus card!

Paper: Luxury Card Stock in Jellybean green, gumdrop green, sweet tooth, and hot fudge. Kraft and silver.

Alcohol Lift Ink Stenciled Background

Good morning! Heather here with one more video featuring alcohol inks! This time I’m sharing how to use alcohol lift inks with stencils – such a fun technique! I also used the adorable March 2019 Sentiment Kit – Baby Bear Hugs!

Here is this week’s video showing you how I did the stenciling for the alcohol ink background on this card:

I created the alcohol ink background before the video, just using a color combo of Flamingo, Sunset Orange, Watermelon together with some Blending Solution.

I stamped the image and carefully fussy cut it out to pop up on foam adhesive on the bottom corner.

The sentiment was heat embossed on a bit of black cardstock and also popped up with foam adhesive.

Textured Alcohol Ink Background

Good morning! Heather here with yet another video featuring alcohol inks! I can’t seem to stop playing with this fun medium – and there are just so many possibilities and ways to use them! Today I’m showing how to add lots of texture to your backgrounds, and using the beautiful Thought of Often stamp set to finish it off!

Here is this week’s video showing you how I created all the lovely texture on the alcohol ink background on this card:

The colors I used for this background are Limeade, Patina, and Turquoise.

The sentiment was heat embossed on a strip of vellum, then wrapped around the front of the alcohol ink panel and adhered on the back. I added the birdie that I stamped and fussy cut out, attaching it with foam adhesive over the top.

The final finishing touch is a few sparkling clear sequins for a fun embellishment!

Rainbow Alcohol Ink Gnome Card

Good morning! Heather here with another video featuring alcohol inks! I hope you aren’t getting tired of these yet – there are just so many fun techniques you can do with them, and I can’t seem to get enough of playing with them! This weeks card features a fun rainbow background and the adorable gnome from Things Take Time.

Here is this week’s video showing you how I created the fun rainbow background on this card:

I absolutely LOVE how bright and vibrant this background comes out – it’s so fun to be able to mix this many colors together and come up with something that still has each color a bit distinct and recognizable.

The air blower I use in the video is a tool for camera lens cleaning – I purchased it off of Amazon. If you search for “lens cleaning air blower” you will find several options ranging from $5 and up. The one I purchased was bout $8 and it works beautifully, so don’t feel like you have to go crazy and buy a super expensive one!

As I also mentioned in the video – I created a background on the video, then used a previously created one to do my stamping, which allowed me to use a thoroughly dry background for my stamping. They both looked fairly similar, but if you notice some differences – you are right! And my ink of choice to stamp on these is Staz-on Ink.

Alcohol Ink Lifted Star Background 2 Ways

Good morning! Heather here with another fun alcohol ink tutorial – this time also featuring the fabulous Alcohol Lift Ink Pad! I used Star Burst Background and my sentiment is from So Glad You Were Born – the February 2016 Sentiment Kit – one of my all time favorite birthday stamp sets!

I love how this technique gives you very easily two cards for the effort of one! And both have a different feel and look to them!

The Alcohol Ink colors I used for this are Stream, Turquoise, Sailboat Blue, and Amethyst. Perfect tones for a night sky! Sentiments were heat embossed on vellum and either attached by folding over the front panel, or tucked behind a circle window.

Alcohol Ink Painting

Good morning! Heather here with another fun alcohol ink tutorial to share with you today! This time I’m using the beautiful Gina K stamp set from Unity called Friendship Blooms paired up with a simple way to “paint” the image with alcohol inks!

I list them in the video as well – but the alcohol ink colors I used are Flamingo, Watermelon, Limeade, Bottle, and Pool.

You definitely can’t try too hard for perfection with this technique – it is a little like watercolors in that way. But to me, that is part of the charm with the results! Every single time it will come out differently!
